Feedback from Manchester

We had a stellar time in Manchester with around 25 people joining from England, Wales, Ireland (north & south), the US, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
Some new relationships were formed as well as a reconnecting of old ones.

Thanks to Paul & Penny and Andy & Nicole for their hard work and effort in setting up hotel and dinner reservations each night. We really appreciate you!

Thanks as well to Lisa for keeping us flowing administratively and for some great new mixers to get to know each other. We certainly learned who was 'hot' and who was not!

It's a few weeks since the Manchester gathering and life has been hectic since we were together. Taking a moment to stop today, I realise that times together such as Manchester are so valuable. My freinds' prayers and love support and sustain me... Much is made of the 'Footprints' poem where the guy is walking along the sand with Jesus and every now and again there are only one set of footprints and the author points to the fact that that is the time when he was carried by Jesus.

But what does that look like and what does that really mean???

Jesus told us we are his hands and feet! So as I walk through life with Jesus and as I look back accross the sand and only see one set of footprints I realise and am thankful for the times that many of you carried me. You have been Jesus to me...

Background

  • Emissary International is a gathering of likeminded individuals who gather solely on the basis of relationship and mutual friendship. The gathering was birthed out of the hearts of Carl Brettle and Jonathan Benz in June 2001. Jonathan had fallen ill and was in a season of extreme spiritual and emotional pressure. Carl jumped on an airplane at short notice and flew from Wales to South Florida in order to pray for and encourage him. While there, the two discussed the need in their generation and among their peers for authentic friendship that would serve as a catalyst to propel them into their destinies. They began gathering groups of 7-15 individuals in different countries for this purpose.

    The development of mutual relationship is the primary distinctive of these gatherings. The gatherings are structured to facilitate relationship and while there is ministry given to each other, any public ministry that may occur is purely secondary. Ample time is given to conversation, relaxation and fun. The heart of the time together is to see an influential gathering of national and international leaders encouraged and affirmed to advance the Kingdom of God in every sector of society across the globe.
